Covid-19 Booster Campaign for Students and School Staff in Phnom Penh to Begin Next Week

PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Health has started a campaign to promote the third, fourth, fifth and sixth booster doses of the Covid-19 vaccine to students and staff of educational institutions in Phnom Penh from 6 February 2023. The administration of booster doses will only take place from Monday to Saturday, with Sunday as a day off for healthcare workers.

According to a letter sent by the Ministry of Health to the Director of the Department of Education, Youth and Sports of Phnom Penh, a group of 160 Samdech Techo Young Volunteer Doctors (TYDA) will participate in this campaign to vaccinate nearly 9,000 students and educational staff per day with Covid-19 booster shots. According to the plan, the Ministry of Health will spend 27 days vaccinating nearly 240,000 students and educators.

There are 266 locations where TYDA doctors will vaccinate students, including 40 high schools, 26 secondary schools, 157 primary schools, 18 non-functioning kindergartens, five non-functional education, youth and sports offices of 14 district administrations, the Cambodia-Japan Friendship Technical Education Center and at four annexes.
